Methodology

How Regulatum Monitors and Verifies Regulatory Developments

Regulatum provides global compliance intelligence based on information published directly by competent authorities.

Our methodology is built around three principles: official sourcing, factual reporting, and traceability.

Official Sources

Regulatum monitors regulatory developments at their source.

Official sources may include:

  • Corporate and commercial registries

  • Government departments and ministries

  • Regulatory and supervisory authorities

  • Financial intelligence and AML authorities

  • Official gazettes and legislation portals

  • Free zone and special economic zone authorities

  • Formal circulars, notices, letters, guidance, and other official communications issued by competent authorities

Third-party news reports, blogs, law firm commentary, and commercial publications are not treated as the authoritative source of a Regulatum alert.

Where available, each reported development includes a direct reference to the relevant official source so subscribers can independently verify the underlying information.

Global Monitoring

Regulatum monitors relevant official regulatory sources across jurisdictions worldwide within its areas of coverage.

This includes:

  • Sovereign states

  • Federal, state, provincial, regional, and municipal jurisdictions

  • Crown dependencies and overseas territories

  • Autonomous and special administrative regions

  • Free zones and special economic zones

  • Offshore and international financial centers

Coverage in any particular week or month depends on relevant publication activity by the competent authorities within that jurisdiction.

A jurisdiction may therefore have no reported development during a particular reporting period where no relevant official update has been published.

Multilingual Monitoring

Regulatory developments are not limited to English-language jurisdictions.

Regulatum monitors relevant official publications issued in other languages and presents qualifying developments in English for consistent review by subscribers.

The underlying official source remains referenced wherever available.

What Regulatum Monitors

Monitoring focuses on regulatory developments relevant to cross-border corporate and compliance professionals, including areas such as:

  • Company formation and registration

  • Registered agent requirements

  • Corporate service provider regulation

  • Corporate registry procedures

  • KYC and customer due diligence

  • Beneficial ownership

  • AML and financial crime compliance

  • Director, shareholder, and nominee requirements

  • Corporate governance

  • Filing and reporting obligations

  • Regulatory deadlines

  • Licensing and authorization

  • Record-keeping requirements

  • Corporate transparency

  • Economic substance

  • Regulatory fees and administrative requirements

  • Changes to applicable legislation, regulations, guidance, and official procedures

Regulatum applies its internal editorial and monitoring criteria when determining which developments are included in subscriber reporting.

Source Verification and Traceability

Each development is reviewed against the relevant official publication before being included in Regulatum reporting.

Where stated by the authority, Regulatum identifies information such as:

  • The issuing authority

  • The jurisdiction

  • The nature of the regulatory change

  • Affected entities or professionals

  • Publication date

  • Effective date

  • Transition period

  • Filing or compliance deadline

  • Relevant regulatory requirement

  • Official source reference

Regulatum summaries are designed to remain factual and traceable to the underlying authority.

Weekly Compliance Alerts

Weekly compliance alerts are delivered every Monday.

They highlight newly published or time-sensitive regulatory developments identified during the preceding reporting period.

The weekly service is designed to bring potentially important developments to subscribers' attention without requiring them to wait until the end of the month.

Not every development identified during a month will necessarily require a separate weekly alert.

Monthly Global Compliance Digest

The Monthly Global Compliance Digest is delivered on the last calendar day of each month.

It provides a consolidated view of relevant regulatory developments identified throughout the full month across jurisdictions within Regulatum's monitoring scope.

The monthly digest is broader than the weekly alert cycle and provides structured, jurisdiction-specific reporting for the complete monthly period.

Amendments, Clarifications, and Subsequent Developments

Regulatory information can change after initial publication.

Where a competent authority subsequently amends, clarifies, replaces, postpones, or withdraws an earlier requirement or communication, Regulatum monitors the subsequent official development and updates its reporting accordingly.

This allows later regulatory developments to be considered in the context of previously reported information.

Independent Verification

Regulatum is designed to make regulatory information easier to identify, review, and trace.

Subscribers are provided with references to the underlying official authority wherever available, allowing them to independently review the original publication.

Regulatum does not replace the issuing authority and does not provide legal, financial, tax, or regulatory advice.

Subscribers remain responsible for determining how a regulatory development applies to their organization, clients, activities, or circumstances.

Source-Verified. Global. Traceable.

Regulatum centralizes regulatory developments from official authorities worldwide into consistent weekly and monthly compliance intelligence.
